WILD FOOD CAFE - West Africa meets West Dorset. Open on the last Saturday of each month. An exciting blend of West African and classic western cuisine is on the menu at the Soundbite cookery school, offering you an alternative dining experience. Using wild food and local produce Soundbite will cook a 2 or 3 course menu for your delight. Bookings in advance.
2 courses £22.00 per person or 3 courses £25.00.

Menu for Sat 31st July:
Starters: Fresh Mackerel, Dandelion Nicoise Salad or Homemade Chicken Liver pate served with warm flatbreads or West African Jollof Rice with fried plantain and hot pepper sauce or summer greek salad with dorset blue vinney cheese
Mains: Venison rolled in cracked pepper and fresh rosemary served with a red wine jus or Ratatouille and goats cheese parcels or Sea and shell Fish bouillabaisse, creamy mustard and herb chicken. all served with fresh local potatoes and vegetables.
Desserts: A medley of lemon & Vanilla cheesecake, squidgy chocolate log and summer berry fruits or warm dorset pear and ginger pudding or cheeseboard. Filter coffee or Tea and homemade truffles.
FOOD - Weds 28th July 2010 : Wessex Africa meets Wessex - Demo and Dine Evening. Enjoy an alternative dining experience at the Soundbite Kitchen. You wll be treated to demonstrations on starters, main courses and desserts from West African stews to dorset puddings, using local summer produce. A most enjoyable "alternative" dining experience.You will sit down together to the meal that has been demonstrated at the end of the evening. Cost £35.00. MUSIC - Saturday 31st July 2010: Lekan Babalola Trio & Soundbite Wild Food Cafe - Described by the washington post as a "wizardry percussionist", Lekan Babalola brings his unique style and dynamic energy to join forces with "one of the most evocative and dexterous accordionists in the country", The Musician - Karen Street and "a clarinettist, with a velveteen tone and lithe style of playing" - songlines - Kate Luxmoore. Drawing on both traditional English and Yoruba songs this trio bring electrifying rhythms and soaring tunes together with a contemporary twist.Tickets £12.00. 8.30pm. ART - Open Studio weekends at Caphays Barn in August from 1st - Exbibition of art works commissioned by the Ifa Yoruba contemporary arts trust from artists across the african diaspora, including a series of batiks by Nigerian artist Taiwo Adediran.Go to www.ifayoruba.co.uk for further details. Sun 29th August : The River Sessions Family Day 2 - Ifa Yoruba celebrate the Osun Osogbo Festival that takes place in Nigeria in August based at the sacred Osun Grove, with our own celebration of the river deity "Osun". A family friendly afternoon of stories, dance, music and food for everyone to join in with!!. Doors open 12pm with activities starting 2pm. Cost; £5.00 per adult, under 16's FREE.
